Home Buying 101

Lois Oliver Real Estate, Inc. is hosting the second annual Home Buying 101 Seminar on Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church, 402 W. Grand.

Registration for the seminar starts at 6pm.

This year's seminar will focus on credit and the importance of getting, and maintaining credit, as well as its importance when applying for a mortgage loan.

The featured speakers this year are from Tierra Del Sol Housing Corporation in Las Cruces, Tierra del Sol Corporation is a non-profit housing and community development organization led by member volunteers. They offer pre-purchase counseling, subdivision development, residential support services, rehab and reconstruction as well as many other aspects with homeownership and community revitalization.

After the speakers are finished, there will be a lender advisory session.

Brokers with Lois Oliver Real Estate will be available with brochures, property information, and to answer any questions about the home buying process. Refreshments will be served.

Six local lenders will be available for consumers to meet with and discuss topics concerning home mortgages, applications and information. Lenders on site will be Brent Kingsley with Washington Mutual, Amelia Smith with First American Bank, David Frehe with USDA, Dave Walker with Edwards Jones, Becky Underation with Pioneer Bank, and Jim and Theresa Johnson with Primerica.
