I have called Artesia home for 15 years. I have found this town to be welcoming and helpful, business oriented and community minded. It has been well fitted for my family and business goals. And because of this, it is very easy for me to sell you on the idea of both living and working in Artesia!

I have an early background in corporate hotel management, working for Marriott Hotels for 9 years. I left the corporate world with a dream to be a business owner. I discovered Artesia to be an ideal location for beginning entrepreneurs. After 10 years of running a successful small business, I once again switched gears and delved into real estate investment and development. I greatly enjoy working with builders and developers in focusing on the growth of Artesia. To further promote our area and to be a part of solutions to better this community, I am actively involved in both County and City leadership. As a County Commissioner, I am proud to be a part of incredible growth in Eddy County. As Mayor, I am pleased to see great change and opportunity present itself in Artesia. The future is bright and exciting!

I am no stranger to change. My experiences have taught me many valuable lessons on the complexities of not only moving and beginning businesses, but also of the nerves and apprehension many feel as they take on a new challenge. Family is an important piece to my success and goals. My daughter is attending Baylor University studying Psychology, and my son will join her in the fall to study Kinesiology. In all the accomplishments over the years, seeing these two happy and thriving and growing into their young adult lives has been the most rewarding for me.
